It’s November!! And that means it’s time for all things Thanksgiving!! Even though I’m TOTALLY a summer girl, there’s just something about November that always makes me happy! It may be knowing I get to go spend time with family. It may be that my wedding anniversary is in November. (20 years this year!!!) Or, it may be all the fun resources that I get to make! Right now, these Thanksgiving busy boxes have my heart VERY happy!!

Just keep scrolling to see all the fun busy box activities I’ve got for letters, numbers, colors, and names! FYI… the names busy box is my favorite in this set! But, I’ve saved the best for last, so make sure you go all the way down to see it!

#1 ~ Letter Tracing Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

Preschool kiddos need lots of fine motor practice, and they LOVE using dry erase markers! So, this busy box is a great way to get them building those little hand muscles and practicing letter formation all at the same time! (I’ve got some great hacks for using dry erase markers with your kiddos! Just click HERE to read what they are!)

#2 ~ Letter Matching Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

These simple puzzles are easy to prep and fun to use! I would definitely laminate them BEFORE you cut them if you want the pieces to fit together exactly! If you want them to be self-checking, just put matching stickers on the back of the pieces that go together!

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

You can also change it up with the three different sets that I’ve got! Your kiddos can match uppercase letters, lowercase letters, or they can match uppercase to lowercase! Oh, and did I mention that this one is free in my TPT store???

#3 ~ Letter Punch Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

These letter punch cards are fantastic for working fine motor skills into your day! All you need to add is a hole punch or a fun Thanksgiving shaped paper punch, and you’re all set! There are two sets: lowercase and uppercase. Printing them on colored paper makes them extra fun! Let me give you this hint though: Make sure you have your kiddos do this one on a tray. Otherwise, you’ll end up with tiny little paper circles all over your room!

#4 ~ Letter Sounds Matching Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

If your kiddos are ready to work on letter sounds, they will love this busy box! All of the puzzles have the uppercase letter, lowercase letter, and a picture that starts with that letter sound. (The X puzzle has an ending sound picture.) You’ll definitely want to add something to the backs of these to make them self checking!

#5 ~ Number Tracing Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

This number tracing busy box is just like the letter tracing activity, but this one has the numbers 0-20! Just print, cut, and laminate and the tracing cards are ready to go! Add the label to the top of your box, and toss in some dry erase markers to complete the busy box! Here’s another hint: Make sure you laminate the cards with laminating sheets that will actually erase! My favorites are [amazon_textlink asin=’B06XRLTJWM’ text=’THESE’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’mrsasroom-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’9125758a-e104-11e8-b140-4946582e0046′] because they erase well AND they are very reasonably priced!

#6 ~ Counting Puzzles Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

I love these counting puzzles! They are great for helping your kiddos with counting AND subitizing! The more they play with these puzzles, the faster they will get at recognizing the different quantities.

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

Just make sure you cut the pieces apart before you laminate them, or you’ll have some VERY frustrated kiddos when the pieces won’t fit together! Here’s another hint: These puzzles print one to a page. So, if you print them onto your favorite colors of fall scrapbook paper (print the puzzles onto the white side), they will automatically be self checking AND super cute!

#7 ~ Roll-a-Turkey Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

OK… I know I said the turkey names busy box is my favorite in this set, but this one is definitely a close second! This roll-a-turkey will keep your kiddos engaged in counting and matching sets to numbers for as long as you’ll let them play with it! You’ll need to decide which set of mats you want to use.

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

One set has images of the dice faces so that your kiddos can count and match sets.

And, one set has numbers so that your kiddos can count the dots on the die and match the set to the number.

Either way, you’ll want your kiddos to start by laying out the mats and adding the turkey pieces to each one. (So, they start off by sorting and matching. If you want to add in ordering numbers, just have them put the mats in order!)

To play, they doll the die, find the mat that matches the number they rolled, and choose which piece they want. The first one to make a full turkey wins! If you don’t want to have a winner and a loser, have two kiddos work together to make one complete turkey. That way they BOTH win!

The really fun part about this one is that they can make their turkeys as realistic or as silly as they want! They can play over and over again and make it different each time!

#8 ~ Measuring Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

This measuring busy box is so simple, but so much fun! I love to add theme-colored cubes to any measuring activity! But you could also use paper clips, foam cubes, beans, or pennies. Any small items you have on hand will do, as long as you only use one thing. No mixing and matching with this one!

And… if you just don’t have anything laying around for your kiddos to measure with, I’ve included “rulers” in the file! These are also good for when your kiddos have gotten really proficient with objects. and you need to take their measuring to the next level!

#9 ~ Color Matching Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

Colors are a big deal in preschool! And these fun turkeys will help your kiddos learn their colors in a snap! They can match the turkeys with the same color tail feathers if they are working on identifying the basic colors. Or,  if your kiddos are older or ready for more…

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

There are options for you! If your kiddos are ready for the color words, you can have them match the turkeys to the words printed in the matching colors, or they can match the turkeys to the words printed all in black. Just choose which set your kiddos need!

#10 ~ Turkey Names Busy Box

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

Now, we’ve gotten to my favorite one in this set! This turkey names busy box isn’t just adorable, it’s EDITABLE!! You can type your kiddos’ names onto the turkey cards, and they can practice building their names with the bright feathers! (Spanish characters and special characters are included too!)

10 Thanksgiving Busy Boxes

Each letter comes in 7 different colors. (My brain naturally thinks in rainbow order!) So, you have lots of color options as well. Here’s a hint for you: You’ll definitely want to use heavy lamination for these. The feathers are only about 2″ long, so the thicker film makes them easier to pick up and move around! Here’s another hint: These are EDITABLE, so you can use them for ANY words at all! You can type in sight words, color words (which would go great with the color matching puzzles!), number words, vocabulary words, theme words, spelling words… Any words that you want your kiddos to practice spelling will work!
